Crystal Profile: Red Jasper

We're doing a deep dive into the healing world of crystals. We've been sharing a profile for each of our favourite crystals so you can learn how and when to best use them.

Known for its rich red complexion, Red Jasper is the Stone of Endurance and a Chi stimulator. This ancient stone has been admired for centuries as protector of spirituality and stability, and used as a talisman of warriors.

Let's take a deeper look at this stone to find out why it's such a beautiful crystal to have in your home.

How is it formed?

Red Jasper has a strong red complexion, that is from the elevated levels of iron within the stone. It's technically a form of quartz, called chalcedony, however it doesn't form in the typical crystal form that you'd expect quartz to. The most common ways that red jasper forms is when fine particulate materials are cemented by silica, or when volcanic ash is cemented into a solid material.

What are its benefits?

As mentioned above, Red Jasper is a stone linked to energy, endurance and stimulating Chi, or Life Force. It brings physical strength, stamina, focus and determination. It can also assist in improving health or overcoming illness, setting goals and following through to completion, facing unpleasant tasks and having the courage to rectify wrongs.
